Zest and salt

This has been one of the most grayest Mays and gloomiest Junes I have ever experienced in San Diego. We skipped spring altogether and I don't think that summer is around the corner. Nevertheless, we can pretend that it is warm and sunny outside and enjoy a snack that my mom would make for dinner on warm evenings when I was little. A tomato sandwich.



I actually do not like tomatoes in my salad, but on a piece of bread I will eat them any time.
My favorite sliced bread is Von's Signature bread 'Nuts and Grain' and here I sprinkled the tomatoes with a Lemonzest salt which I had received as a birthday gift. It was a very tasty combination.
