Paper Journal

I like to write on paper too, using my favorite fountain pens or color pencils (Caran D'Ache). It is my third year that I have been using the Hobonichi A6 planner.  A compact portable day-on-one-page planner with the best Tomoe River paper that you could imagine. It is a pleasure to write on it on a daily basis, and I really do. Since 2016. I actually track all the bullshit that is going on in politics. And it is sad to say that I always have something to write about every day. For instance today my notes are as follows:

  • Teresa May loses key vote in Parliament. another blow to the Brexit plan.
  • Senate confirms William Barr as AG (54-45)
  • DT [Trump] signs deal/spending bill to avoid another shutdown but wants to declare a state of emergency to fund wall. Got 1.3 b which is less than what was offered before the shutdown (1.6 b) Such a great deal maker.
  • Torrential rains, Flash Flood warning
  • Access to BB [Big Bear] closed from 38 + 18 due to rock slides
  • Cooper gone one year. So sad.
  • Image (pasted on page) "someone asked me 'what's the most difficult thing about owning a dog?' I replied 'the goodbye'.

This is Cooper who left us last year on Valentines Day
Inside the cover my sweet co-worker Kumi wrote my name in Japanese again and I drew a little something, this year a mandala. Don't know if I want to add color to it, or enlarge it.

However, a few years ago I was diagnosed with CSR (Central Serous Retinopathy)  on my right eye. The retina specialist said it is often stress related and actually there is not much information on how it can be treated. It usually goes away, but in my case, it did go away, but it left scar tissue on my retina and I have blurred vision on my right eye. This has made it difficult for me to read small print or draw in my notebook. It has taken the fun out of many things, even though I zoom into everything on my laptop and also use a magnifying glass on prints. It strains my eyes.

It has not affected my knitting though, as I can see my stitches on the needles. 😌

And that is why I was researching for on-line journal tools and came back to blogging.
