It is cold

We should not complain about the weather in San Diego, but it has been extremely cold this year. Which is actually great because I can wear all my knitted objects a lot.
Higher elevations around San Diego, like Julian, Palomar Mountain, etc. have received a lot of snow this year. Today they had to shut down Highway 8 east of Alpine due to ice and snow. Probably because people are not prepared to drive in this kind of weather. Cars do not have winter tires and most do not own any chains.

Big Bear ski resort is booming, with all the snow they have had this year. We have not been up to the cabin much this winter. But the kids and friends have. Today one of the guys had to stop by to pick up his snowboards from our shed. He sent us these pictures.

It looks so beautiful - as long as it is untouched and you can sit by the fireplace and sip your hot beverage with your knitting on your lap.
All of this precipitation really saved us from the severe drought situation we have experienced in California for several years now.

That's all a positive, right? But I am so tired of the cold weather already. I am longing for the spring.
