NaBloPoMo2015, (Nov 30)

Today is the last day of the November Blog challenge. I participated on a whim and it was fun to stick to it and post daily.
I had all these story ideas lined up in a notebook, and I always wanted to write them down properly. These are memories of the first 21 years of my life in Tehran which was my home. A home that I can never go back to. Yes, of course I could travel with a tourist visa today, but the home that I knew in the 60s and 70s does not exist anymore. A home that my kids will never be able to see. A home that I miss very much, so much sometimes it hurts.

There are so many other memories connected to that time. I did not write about my time at the German school "Deutsche Schule Tehran" (DST), which today is an awesome community of former students who still meet every other year. There are many more detailed events that I could add, but here are just some that were important to me.

I see this as the first chapter in my life. Moving to Berlin was the second chapter. Today I am living in the third chapter and I am curious to find out if there will be a fourth.

I decided to write in letter format to my dear friend. We grew up together, we moved on, moved far apart and now we live only 60 miles from each other. She is my family and I am hers. She is part of home.

To everyone who took the time to read my blog, thank you.
